Jesus Christ started a Movement. And that Movement was the vehicle by which He sought to complete His Mission. His Mission was to fulfill the Promise. A Promise made so many millennia before. The Father had cast out the man and woman but not without the chance to win back their place with Him. This was the Promise: humanity would not have to be forever without it's God.

"Go and make disciples of all nations." And, with this last command He rose from their sight. The challenge was laid before them; they now had the key to again be with God forever. Would they have the courage to use it; to abuse it; to refuse it. What was this key? And, who really had it? Would the challenge be accepted or rejected? Who was to be responsible? The One who left did not say. All they heard was: "Why do you stand there? Do not have work to do?" They did. They had to find a place to hide. A room away from it all. From the preying eyes of those who would seek their demise. A room is safe, away from it all.

But, then there was that loud sound and that very strong wind. It blew the doors open, it ripped the window slats from there hinges. It blew so strong that is pushed those people all around, save one. They could not stand, yet they could not lie against the floor. They could not crawl, yet they could not sit. The wind, it was so cold, yet did not chill; it was so hot, yet did not burn; it was like a wet rain, yet they were dry. It did not move around them; it moved through them, yet it did not leave their bodies. This wind, traveled as if time did not exist, It entered their chest and into their heart, it then moved down to their toes and up through their mind exploding forth through the top of their heads. As It did so, it appeared that this wind was not really wind at all, but fire. It was really not a flame but more of a tongue shaped red glowing air. THEN, all was still.

And, there in the room were not the people who only heard the prophets of Old but had become the Prophets who would now continue to fulfill the Promise. They would "follow" the King of Prophets as the Promise fulfilled. For they would follow with their whole heart, their whole mind and their whole body.

And, what did their whole heart and their whole mind and their whole body tell them that they were to do? They were to go out. And, they went out!!!!! In going out and proclaiming the Word would they not be accepting the challenge of His Mission? And the more they proclaimed the Word, the more they realized that in bringing together as many people as possible in the Truth of their Lord, that they would live with Him and His Father forever. They were beginning to build the Faith Community.

The Key to a successful Mission is the Love of the Father, which is grace; the Sacraments; the Truth. It is to not only discern the Truth but to answer the call of the Truth revealed. It is to be pulled away from the comfort of our life and to see what is being asked of us. It is the knowledge that once we accept this path revealed and discovered through the discernment of the Truth given we have crossed a bridge that we can never again cross: it is an awareness that we are no longer in "Kansas" anymore or that we will ever be again.
